- Training of team members on grinding and extrusion machines.

- Operate lift truck and fork lift equipment if needed

- Prepare and display visual ID's in regrind area for good grinding operation

- Keep detailed records as required including Plant 098 reports

- Perform melt-flow test on extruded materials and maintain database for the same

- Train set up techs and shop floor team members on regrind waste identification towards effective recycling of sprues and runners, scrap parts, purge, etc.

- Provide proper resources and identification on the floor for separating and collecting all forms of recyclable plastics

- Evaluate options for reducing the amount of purge being generated and enforce it

- Conduct engineering trials related to regrind usage ensuring quality at all stages

- Analyze machine patterns and identify opportunities for closed loop grinding

- Coordinate with other departments towards installation of grinders for effective recycling

- Generate IPCR and coordinate with quality engineers for regrind testing and approval

- Track and record outgoing waste material and formulate plans to reduce it

- Support scrap reduction activity wherever necessary to reduce regrind generation

- Coordinate with paint department for effective recycling of painted parts and participate in paint-related waste reduction activities as needed

- Investigate outsourcing options for recycling that will result in effective cost saving and coordinate with outside recyclers for effective disposal of non-recyclable materials

- Create documents and generate monthly reports




- Two year college diploma; or three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

- Minimum three years in the automotive industry

- Minimum three years of Process Engineering and troubleshooting knowledge

- Familiarity with extrusion, grinding, and recycling processes

- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, and technical drawings

- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume

- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry

- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables

- Reach truck and Lift truck licenses are required

- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50lbs.
