Human Resource Specialist (6 month contract)

- Manage the full cycle of recruitment for various positions including the internal job posting system

- Effectively engage employees, communicate with all levels of the organization providing advice, assistance and follow up on policies and procedures

- Support, coach and counsel front line supervision in employee relation and legislative matters

- Assist in further developing a positive culture

- Conduct investigations when needed

- Responsible for coordinating the Concerns Resolution Process and record keeping

- Assist in the authoring, training and application of TG Minto Policies

- Effectively resolve employee issues and concerns

- Explain benefits program to employees and serve as a liaison between employees and benefit specialist

- Conduct and collect benchmarking data

- Work with the EHS team to assist with immediate issues that arise, such as return to work accommodations

- Assist the HR Manager with projects, policy development and implementation of HR initiatives

- Assist and coordinate with other HR team members as necessary

- Participate in networking and community events as needed




- Post Secondary education in Human Resources Management with CHRP or designation in progress with a minimum of 1-3 years direct experience in a generalist or specialist role

- Has a strong working knowledge of applicable legislation

- Based from the day shift schedule, but must be flexible to support a three shift operation when required

- Must have a strong customer focus along with solid interpersonal, and communication skills as will be interacting with people in all levels of the organization
